Using Buildout Integration

Using the Buildout Integration

  1. Go to a Listing record.
  2. Click the Publish button. If there is no Publish button, contact your system administrator. Administrators can follow the instructions contained in this article: Buildout Integration Setup (Lightning).

4. After marking the Listing for publishing, more details about the integration will appear.

Additional Details:

  • Key: The name of the API Key used to publish the Listing to Buildout.
  • Sync Daily: Determines whether or not this Listing should be included in the Daily Sync batch job. Note: If Sync Daily is not activated in the Listing Service settings, then none of the Listings will be synced daily, regardless of this checkbox.
  • Publish Status: Indicates whether or not this Listing successfully synced with Buildout during the last sync attempt.
  • Last Sync Date: The date of the last sync attempt.

5. Click Save and you will be returned to the Listing detail page. You can also click Save and Publish if you want to publish right now.

**After marking a Listing for publishing, anytime you return the Publish page you will be given the option to Save & Sync with Buildout Now so you don’t have to wait for the daily sync batch job.

Sync All Listings Manually

Once you have set up the Listing Sync, you will also be able to manually start the sync by clicking Sync Listings Now button on the Buildout Settings page. This will start the sync listing batch job, and will publish all listings that have been marked for publishing and have the Sync Daily checkbox checked. The sync may take some time, so you can either stay on this page and watch the progress or leave the page and the sync will continue in the background. You will be emailed when the sync is complete.

Troubleshooting

In addition to receiving emails about the status of the sync batch jobs, a Sync History is found at the bottom of the Buildout Settings page. The last 10 syncs are displayed, but you can change the number of logs retained to any number. We recommend leaving it as 10.  Click on the line to see more logs and the entire Error Message.

If you receive any errors regarding Remote Site Settings, please follow the path specified in the error message and add “https://www.buildout.com” as an endpoint in the system.

NOTE: Make sure that the same email address is set up (not user name) in both Salesforce and in Buildout or else you will get a syncing error.
